The Grail Twins: A Cathar Legacy

by Julie de Vere Hunt

A tale of dragons, an ancient bloodline, and the hidden wisdom of Sophia. When Oxford doctor Annie Morgan turns to hypnotherapy to quiet her night terrors, she unlocks memories she cannot explain – glimpses of a Cathar girl fleeing Montsegur, sacred relics entrusted to her care, and a treasure buried high above the monastery at Montserrat.

As her visions lead her through Atlantis, Egypt, Druid Wales, Avalon, and Rosslyn Chapel, Annie pieces together the story of Anna and Dewi – twins born of Magdalene and Yeshua, protectors of Sophia’s flame, trained by Merlin and Taliesin, and guarded by dragons. In their Atlantean lifetime their destiny is to restore balance after the Fall, healing the rift between light and shadow – a harmony that will one day awaken the true Grail.

Now, as Annie walks the ancient stones and meets the man her soul has known for millennia, she learns what it truly means to be the Grail’s keeper in a world that has forgotten.

What gave me the idea that Mary Magdalene and Yeshua might have had twins?

It began three years ago in a hotel in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Provence. I was travelling with international bestselling author Kathleen McGowan, who has spent more than thirty years researching Mary Magdalene and the hidden traditions surrounding her life.
We were there for the annual festival that commemorates the arrival of Mary Magdalene and her companions by boat from Egypt. During one of Kathleen’s evening storytelling sessions, she shared a thought that stayed with me long after the tour had ended: she believed Mary Magdalene and Yeshua may have had a son named Yeshua David.
That idea sent me down a rabbit hole.
As I explored my own research, I discovered medieval accounts claiming that Joseph of Arimathea journeyed to Britain. Some traditions suggest he founded an early church here and that Mother Mary herself spent fifteen years living in Britain.
But why?
Why would Mother Mary leave the Holy Land and spend fifteen years on a remote island off the north coast of Wales?
What if she wasn’t there for herself? What if she was protecting her grandchildren?
And if there were grandchildren, why could there not have been more than one child? Twins?
That single question became the seed from which The Grail Twins – A Cathar Legacy grew.
This is not a history book, nor does it claim to prove anything. It is a work of visionary fiction inspired by ancient traditions, medieval legends, Welsh mythology, Cathar history, and the enduring mysteries surrounding Mary Magdalene.
At its heart lies a simple question:
What if the legends remember something real?
Sometimes the most fascinating stories begin not with answers, but with a question.
